Misc. information to the Town Clerk: • Sales Tax for the month of JUNE check from the County $9,688.19 • Snow and Ice fringe benefits check $6,004.17 • Town of Laurens looking to put a Comprehensive Plan in place and the County told them to get in touch with Tom regarding the Town of Cherry Valley’s Comprehensive Plan. • Supervisor Garretson asked Councilperson Cornwell to check into the East Hill four wheeler issues. Community Center Alden Field and Park: • Gym Board meeting will be held in the near future to decide to either remain closed and or limited opening. Village: Town and Village Board Minutes and info- www.cherryvalleyny.us • Tom heard back from the Town Attorney Will Green regarding the transfer and or sale of the Town Parking Lot to the Village. Highway Department: • Send the old Grade-All to Teitsworth Auction. • Ad to the newspaper for vacant highway position. • Deputy Highway Superintendent gave a report on the current work happening on Town roads. Recyclable bins are being abused at the Town taxpayer’s expense. Supervisor Garretson was hoping Dave Bliss, County Rep would be in attendance at tonight’s meeting. Councilperson Waterfield spoke to Karen Sullivan last year ago and she suggested mounting cameras and or locking up the bins. Cameras would be costly and have to be monitored and once individuals are identified they would have to be addressed. Councilperson Cornwell asked about removing the bins altogether. This may create more of a mess in the long run. This will continue to be a work in progress. Example someone is dumping used cat litter and this should not be happening. Superintendent Tony Miles will be retiring at the end of September. Dorothy Johnson current Tax Collector will be retiring at the end of this year. Resolution 2020-6 Establish the office of Deputy Town Tax Collector PROPOSED ACTION: Establish the office of Deputy Town Tax Collector. Motion to accept made by Councilperson Johnson Seconded Councilperson VanDerwerker Roll call vote: Supervisor Garretson-yes, Councilperson Johnson-yes, Councilperson VanDerwerker-yes, Councilperson Waterfield-yes and Councilperson Cornwell-yes 5-yes 0-no Resolution 2020-6 duly carried. Resolution 2020-7 Renewal of the franchise agreement held by Spectrum Northeast, LLC also know as Charter Communications and the Town of Cherry Valley. Motion to accept made by Councilperson Cornwell and seconded by Councilperson Waterfield Roll call vote: Supervisor Garretson-yes, Councilperson Johnson-yes, Councilperson DRAFT ONLY TB MEETING AUGUST 13, 2020 VanDerwerker-yes, Councilperson Waterfield-yes and Councilperson Cornwell-yes 5-yes 0-no Resolution 2020-7 duly carried. Supervisor Garretson would like to bring the Tax Collector position back to the Town Clerk as many Towns have their Town Clerk’s as their Tax Collectors. Motion made by Councilperson VanDerwerker to appoint the Town Clerk, Mary Beth Flint as deputy Town Tax Collector seconded by Councilperson Johnson. All in favor 5-yes 0-no. Dorothy Johnson will be training Mary Beth on the new Tax software as soon as the County downloads it onto the Town Clerk’s computer. New hours will be established and published for the public to make in person tax payments in January. Public Questions, Comments and concerns…………..2 minute limit per request Frank McGrath comes before the Board asking if there are any plans for extending Fiber (Spectrum cable for broadband) outside the Village. Supervisor Garretson has been in touch with Senator Seward’s office regarding this issue. Councilperson Cornwell stated the Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Council may be an option to look into. Highway Department:
• The reservoir for the gas tanks is full of water and producing a foul odor that the next door neighbors are exposed to. A roof with a vent will be placed over the reservoir to prevent water collection in the future.
• A demolition saw was requested by the HDS Fields. Councilperson VanDerwerker gave a quote to him for a demolition saw from his place of employment.
• CHIPS money came through.

Gary and Barb Hall were present regarding the highway gas reservoir odor situation.
