PUBLIC HEARING FOR LOCAL LAW 2016-1 2017 PROPERTY TAX CAP LEVY OVERRIDE is opened at 6:55PM with a motion from Councilperson Barown and 2nd by Councilperson Cornwell. 5-yes 0-no

Public present asked for an explanation for the tax cap levy override.

The Board explained this is required by the State of New York if the Town Budget exceeds a certain level the Town has to have a local law to override the cap in order to make budget. The State put this in place approximately 4 years ago and every year the Town passes a local Law to override the cap if need be.

Motion to close the Public Hearing is made by Councilperson Barown and 2nd by Councilperson Johnson 5-yes 0-no

Councilperson Cornwell made a motion to accept the invoices and payments as read Councilperson Waterfield seconded the motion. The invoices and payments have been presented and accepted. All in favor 5 yes 0 no. Motion carried.

Presentation of Invoices and Payments:
• Budget reviewed as well as NBT Account balances.

Misc. information to the Town Clerk:
• Sales tax for the month of JUL $6,589.08
• Otsego County Self-Insurance Plan $1,683.48
• Roy Teitsworth, Inc $21,250.00
• Comptroller’s Audit report will be available in the Town Clerk’s office for public review. The report can also be found online at the State Comptrollers web site.

Community Center/Alden Fields and Park:
• The gym floor is scheduled to be refinished the last week of September

Health Center:
• New ramp at the Health Center will be up to code.

Village:
• Town and Village board minutes online @ cherryvalleyny.us

The Justice books have been audited by the Town Board.

Resolution 2016-7 Audit of the Town Justice Court Records has been presented to the Town Board. Motion made by Councilperson Cornwell to accept the Resolution as presented. 2nd by Councilperson Barown. Roll call vote is taken: Supervisor Garretson-yes, Councilperson Johnson-yes, Councilperson Barown-yes, Councilperson Cornwell-yes and Councilperson Waterfield-yes 5-yes 0-no

Local Law 2016-1 is duly passed.

Tentative Budget for 2017 is disbursed to the Town Board for their review. Corrections to the budget should be made to the Town Supervisor in a timely manner.
