The regular meeting of the Town Board of Cherry Valley was held on Thursday March 10, 2022 with meeting called to order at 7:00PM by Supervisor Garretson

Councilperson VanDerwerker made a motion to accept the invoices and payments as presented, Councilperson Waterfield seconded the motion.  The invoices and payments have been presented and accepted.   All in favor 3 yes 0 no

 

Presentation of Invoices and Payments:

  • Budget reviewed as well as NBT Account balances.

 

Misc. information to the Town Clerk:

  • Otsego County Treasurers 2 checks for Sales Tax for the month of JAN $4,147.45 and $2,932.60
  • Otsego County Treasurers check for snow and ice Oct-Dec $17,170.07
  • Thank you card received from the Cherry Valley Historical Association.

 

Community Center Alden Field and Park:

  • Biddy Basketball games and practices are wrapping up as the end of the Biddy basketball season is ending.  One of the coaches wants to continue an open gym for March for the kids, which I agreed to for the month of March only.
  • Parking has become an issue and the Town may want to look into some alternatives with nearby property if the owners would be interested in selling a small portion to add additional parking spots for the Community Center.

 

Village:

 

Town Planning Board:

  • Lorraine, chairperson, was contacted by Green Street Power Partners with three questions for the Planning Board regarding the solar law.  Lorraine deferred these questions to the Town Attorney, Will Green.

 Highway Department:

  • Superintendent Field stated because of rising costs the truck builders are going to want payment for the chassis next time a truck needs to be built.  Tentatively we are on a build schedule and the minimum is a 2 year wait.
  • The Freightliner is still in Albany waiting to be fixed.  They think there is a transmission problem but they are not sure.  They are still trying to diagnose the problem.
  • Superintendent Field reported as of late people are passing the snow plows unsafely.  The new truck is equipped to mount cameras to capture potential accidents that may occur with these unsafe drivers passing the plows.  Putting themselves in danger and the plow truck drivers in danger.

 

Resolution 2022-4 Purchase and Bond of 2022 Western Star Truck for the Town of Cherry Valley is presented to the Town Board Motion to accept Resolution 2022-4 is made by Councilperson VanDerwerker and 2nd by Councilperson Waterfield  

Roll call vote is taken:  Supervisor Garretson-yes, Councilperson VanDerwerker-yes and Councilperson Waterfield-yes  3 yes 0 no.  Resolution 2022-4 is duly carried.

 

Town Clerk will sign, seal and post the Estoppel in the Town Board for 20 days.

 

Public Questions, Comments and concerns…………..2 minute limit per request

 

No comment from the public present.

 

Motion made by Councilperson Waterfield to adjourn the meeting 2nd by Councilperson VanDerwerker

 

There being no further business meeting adjourned at 7:30PM.

 

Next Town Board meeting will be Thursday, April 14, 2022 7:00PM
