The regular meeting of the Town Board of Cherry Valley was held on Thursday June 13, 2024 with meeting called to order at 7:00PM by Supervisor Garretson

Councilperson VanDerwerker made a motion to accept the invoices and payments as presented, Councilperson Waterfield seconded the motion.  The invoices and payments have been presented and accepted.   All in favor 5 yes 0 no

 

Presentation of Invoices and Payments:

  • Budget reviewed as well as NBT Account balances

 

Misc. information to the Town Clerk:

  • Otsego County Sales Tax and mortgage tax for the month of MAY $16,899.13 (sale tax $7,905.89 + mortgage tax $8,993.13=$16899.13
  • Town Clerk received a notification from the DEC regarding hunting licenses will now be printed on standard white paper. No more Valeron paper.

 

Community Center Alden Field and Park:

·         Outdoor Games are the weekend of June 14-16

 

Village:

 

Town Planning:

  • Solar project is progressing

 

Highway Department:

  • Highway Superintendent Fields inquires if the highway employees will have Wednesday June 19 off in observance of Juneteenth?  Since this is a recognized national holiday yes they will have it off.
  • Permits have been submitted for Dietsche Road project.
  • Set for paving at the end of the month
  • Will be doing some dust seal next week
  • 2027 has new standards for trucks over 400 horsepower will need the standard transmission.  Will not be able to get an automatic transmission.

 

Public Questions, Comments and concerns…………..2 minute limit per request

Keith Shue an Electrical Engineer and Environmentalist as well as a Village resident is present at tonight’s and voices some concerns regarding the Solar project happening on County Route 50.  He offers to do a presentation to the Town Board and other Boards regarding the States Energy Plan.  Supervisor Garretson states the project is a small-scale project of 10 acres and offers to have Mr. Shue attend a Joint Planning Board meeting where he can ask if the JPB would like a presentation.

 

Andy Minnig updates the Board on the dog situation on East Hill.  There has been a reduction of barking noise, however it is still present.

 

Motion made by Councilperson Cornwell to adjourn the meeting 2nd by Councilperson VanDerwerker.

 

There being no further business meeting adjourned at 7:38PM.

 

Next Town Board meeting will be Thursday, July 11, 2024 7:00PM
