Motion made by Councilperson Johnson to open the Public Hearing for the Preliminary Budget for 2023, 2nd by Councilperson Waterfield at 6:45PM

 

There was no public comment by the public present

 

Motion to Close the Public Hearing made by Councilperson VanDerwerker 2nd by Councilperson Waterfield public hearing closed at 7:00PM

The regular meeting of the Town Board of Cherry Valley was held on Thursday November 10, 2022 with meeting called to order at 7:00PM by Supervisor Garretson

Councilperson Cornwell made a motion to accept the invoices and payments as presented, Councilperson Johnson seconded the motion.  The invoices and payments have been presented and accepted.   All in favor 5 yes 0 no

Misc. information to the Town Clerk:

  • Otsego County Sales Tax for the month of SEP $14,182.04
  • Otsego County Traffic Diversion Prog 9/22 $1,000.00

Community Center Alden Field and Park:

  • Biddy Basketball program starting up
  • Dog training classes (5 sessions)

Highway Department:

  • HSF would like to run another ad for vacant highway maintainer position
  • Pricing quotes on a pickup truck were distributed 4-5 month wait when placing an order
  • Having electrical issues with the loader need to price out a new loader
  • Motion made by Councilperson VanDerwerker to authorize Highway Superintendent Field to purchase a Volvo Loader 2nd by Councilperson Cornwell all in favor 5-yes 0-no

Motion to accept Local Law 2022-2 Override Tax Levy Limit made by Councilperson Cornwell 2nd by Councilperson Waterfield Roll call vote taken:  Supervisor Garretson-yes, Councilperson Johnson-yes, Councilperson VanDerwerker-yes, Councilperson Cornwell-yes and Councilperson Waterfield-yes  5-yes 0-no Motion carried

 

Motion made by Councilperson VanDerwerker 2nd by Councilperson Johnson to approve

Resolution 2022-6 Adoption of the 2023 Town of Cherry Valley Budget

 

Roll call vote taken:

Supervisor Garretson-yes, Councilperson Johnson-yes, Councilperson VanDerwerker-yes, Councilperson Cornwell-yes and Councilperson Waterfield-yes  5-yes 0-no Motion carried

 

Brian Larrabee of Home Town Hauling stated he can handle the recycling while he is there from 8-11AM on Saturday mornings.  He presents the price increase information to the Board.  He suggests putting up gates to lock the bins and not leave them open for public to access anytime of the day or night.  The bins would be accessible during certain times of the day so they can be monitored.  The Board held a discussion and all agreed to putting up gates and signage regarding the impending change.

Motion made by Councilperson Cornwell to adjourn the meeting 2nd by Councilperson Waterfield

 

There being no further business meeting adjourned at 7:58PM.
